Overview - Metal Assault is a 2d side scrolling shooter with co op and team death match elements. It’s published by Aeria games and just entered its open beta phase.

It favors the old style games like metal slug, worms, and maybe alittle Contra even.  It dares to attract not only old school gamers but with it’s addictive game play it’ll bring in the new school as well.

Character Creation – You start off in Metal Assault by choosing from 4 characters. Two males, Two females. You then get to choose from a hand full of different hair styles and faces. (Not nearly enough if my opinion but hey it’s in open beta) You pick your name then your on your way. Your then tossed into the persistent world which is pretty much the town/meeting area for players where you can trade and buy new equipment. Even have alittle post-war chat with your friends.

Gameplay –  Game play is actually pretty decent. You join the lobby and have a choice between co – op or dm. You don’t have a long waiting time to get into a match because the player base is already pretty built up. That might drop after a few weeks though it did just enter open beta. The co op games are pretty much you and 15 other players shooting the heck out of zombies in a series of ten stages kind of like a survival style match. If you survive the massacre you win! Haven’t noticed any hackers or unbalance in the game yet but again, It’s beta. Oh did i forget to mention you can get in choppers and robot mechs! That says it all folks. Robot mechs ftw

Grind Factor –  It’s really hard to talk about the “Push” in a game like this cause really all your gonna do is kill right. Wrong! You can go around the Town area and pick up quests and missions to complete for gear and money to keep the game feeling “fresh” as it were. Other then that can you honestly say you would get bored of killing zombies in a giant mech robot while your buddy launches rockets up the zombies..ehem cave.

Summary –  All in all Metal assault is a solid casual game to relieve your frustrations on some metal slug style zombies. And if you feel the urge. Your friends.

This is is the best first person shooter online game I have played yet. So, I believe sharing this game is something that I really want to do. I’m a diverse gamer you know.

Alliance of Valiant arms is an online First Person Shooter, I know that it’s not RPG, but it’s still an MMO. Alliance of Valiant arms was developed by REDDUCK and distributed by NEOWIZ. This is free to play to, just buy the game and you’ll be doing just fine. Isn’t that great?

You might ask where the shooting takes place, it’s a modern urban warfare, then the story is from a fictional plot where the European Union and the Neo-Russian Federation had their own conflicts, so you won’t be worrying on carrying those crappy guns during the World War, There are three jobs for this, a Rifle Man which specializes on guns that has superior fire power. Next is the point man, carries light machine guns such as the mp5-navy for example and finally the sniper. There are different missions to choose from and maximum players per game is 16, therefore you could compete in an 8 vs 8 match. Four types of games are the demolition, escort, demolition and annihilation. There is also a game type which is called survival where you get chased and gunned down by convicts in a prison.  So it can be a good game since you just don’t run around and kill people. haha! There are also items being sold to improve your looks and make it look cool, add stats, you can also buy equipments like scopes, silencers, grips and new guns too of course.

So, I should say that this is not just one of those Counter Strike clones that we usually play, because it’s better. It has different missions available. You can play alone or play with your friends. This game has a very good detail and graphics too. Better check it out, I actually had fun playing this game. By the way did I mention that this game is FREE TO PLAY? Yes, you heard me right. It’s free to play. So better Check it out.

Listen up comic book fans, you might get hooked to an MMORPG game this time, DC Universe is about to release their online game. Which consists of so many characters that you could choose from but you can’t choose the famous character you have to create your own hero and create a legend for yourself.  This game is developed by SOE(Sony Online Entertainment). I myself is hyped to play this game, since I grew up together with these cartoons.

The gameplay, first is you have the option to become the villain or the hero. You can fight along side with Batman, Joker, Wonder Woman and Superman, isn’t this cool? I mean, isn’t this cool? lol. The game is just like what the usual DC games on other consoles where you can pick up cars and enemies to throw or use them to smash the enemy. The game is subscription based therefore you have to buy the game to be able to play. Places available for playing are really the famous places that you see on the comics, first is Batman’s famous city, Gotham, as well as the Arkham Assylum where villains in Gotham city are being kept.  You can also stroll the Justice League of America Watchtower and encounter hundreds of different DC comics superheroes and villains, let me name you few people, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Batman, Batwoman, Joker, Catwoman and a whole lot more. You don’t run astray either, like going anywhere and level up. The game is story driven therefore, you get a story for yourself. A story of becoming a legendary super hero.

Target date for the release of the game was November 2, 2010, but beta testing is on going until now. So, better save some cash already. You don’t want to start late on this one. Watch out for more updates.

Check the DC Universe main website since they are giving out free beta keys. Better check it out as soon as your read this sinice this is just a once in a lifetime oppurtunity my friend. I myself applied for it. Though I read comments that they only pick countries that could play the game. Some ranted about “sorry this game is not available in your country, thank your for your interest.” What a bummer.

Since we all know that it’s 2D and we don’t expect much on a browser based game to be equipped in a high quality graphics. Since of course there would be loading problems later on if the graphics are too high.

Did you remember that you play alone together with some AI buddies when you were playing Adventure Quest? Now on AQ Worlds, you can now communicate and play with other player. Since this is now MMORPG which makes it more interactive.

Compared to Adventure Quests, AQ worlds has better looking armors and sword swings. They have more skills too. And oh, they have 2nd jobs available for you.

There are 4 jobs avalable:

First is the Warrior which primarily focuses on close combat fighting together with his sword. The warrior wears a heavy looking armor, which makes it bulky and strong this job also boasts a high HP. The Warrior becomes Warlord as his second job.

Next would be the Healer, everyone knows that a healer is a support type but this one right here can do a stand alone quest. Their second job is the Acolyte.

The Mage is equipped with magic together with different elemental spells. Mages become Sorcerers or Sorceress for their second job.

Rogue boasts with speed and power, though as a downfall they have low HP and Armor. Rogues becomes renegades as their second jobs.

There are downfalls on Adventure Quests Worlds Unfortunately, since there are moore available jobs for member which are  Beast Warrior, Berserker,  Ninja, Paladin, Pirate, Witch, Vampire, and a lot more. There are more maps available for members too. So, for people who doesn’t have the cash to play the game, better save up if you want to stay longer on this game.

The game is under development therefore, they are still trying to give a better feel of the game for us. PVP? If you’re asking about PVP, it is now available for play. If PVP’s available, parties are also available you can kill monster and level up together. So, it’ll gonna be a whole lot of fun compared to Adventure Quests.

The gameplay is divided into two groups, the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Cool Eh? Not yet, since they are going to differentiate each job from both sides, meaning if a healer for example might do two different set of skills or should I say, and extra skills for both parties. Therefore, each job class is unique even combining both the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire. It’s not just about the names, it’s what they do that’s different. Now, that’s cool.Announced jobs are the Bounty Hunter, Sith Warrior, Imperial Agent, and Sith Inquisitor for the Sith Empire and the Trooper, Smuggler, Jedi Knight, and Jedi Consular. There might be an over population for a Jedi Knight on this game. LOL. ‘Coz I know that everybody wants to be a Jedi and I am guilty as charged. According to my source(Wikipedia), there are jobs that might need a certain job class, like if you don’t have a smuggler for example, you can’t go on with the quest. But good thing is that they’re trying to make an effort that every class can do missions on their own. Now, ain’t that a good thing? If you’re not that friendly type of a person this could be a good thing to hear. Hear this! There will be a space combat for player. Wow! More space exposure, driving your own space crafts in fighting will be a sight. Jake Neri, LucasArts Producer, told PC Gamer in their upcoming October 2010 issue that their goal is to “capture the most cinematic moments that we can create. We want players to get in and feel like they’re in the movies. It’s about highly cinematic, controlled combat moments…very heroic, action-packed, exciting, visceral and dangerous encounters that’ll make you pee your pants.” -wiki

Rappelz has three races and basically 3 different 1st job and 5 2nd jobs with different names per race. First is Deva, let’s say they are the light, the goodness. They possess the power to control water, earth and the holy light. They possess the 1st jobs the holy warrior, the cleric and the breeder.  After training, they holy warrior will become a soldier or knight. While the cleric will become a bishop or a priest and lastly the breeder will become a soul breeder with a soul.

Next will be Gaia represents the oldest inhabitants of the place, they are guided the Devas and the Asuras,they are taught to control the forces of nature, fire, wind, water and earth. For the first job, they have the fighter, kahuna and the spell singer, then the fighter will become a champion or an archer, the kahuna will become a battle kahuna or druid. Lastly, a spell singer will become an evoker.

There will always be an antagonist in every story, the Asura, they have the ability to control fire, lightning and shade(darkness), they are focused on offense and evasion. 1st jobs are the strider, dark magician and sorcerer.  Second jobs, strider has the option to pick from an assassin or a shadow hunter. A dark magician has the option to pick a chaos magician or a warlock and lastly sorcerer will become a battle sorcerer.

Take your pick, choose your side. Dark? Light? or should I say the first inhabitants of the land? Happy Playing!

Anyway, for the fisrt part of the Aika review, I’ll start with the characters since that’s what everybody wants to see first, unfortunately you can’t choose the gender of your characters then I’ll continue with the others for the next part. Ok, so here goes.

First one, is the warrior, melee class, male, almost in every online game, fighters are powerful and at the same time good tanks which means a high and defense hit point and so they are in Aika. They wear metal armors for protection .

Next is the Warlock, ranged class, male, they are the primary damage dealers of the game,  they are the ones who stay at the back to cast spells and magic, they have low hit points and defense. Of course, that would be an imbalance if they make warlocks’ defense higher.

3rd is the ever supporting Cleric, a female, this comes very vital in any party or guild, where it could be two man team or more since they come with buffs and heal. They have a lower health point and defense though but they don’t fight in the front lines anyway. Bottom line? Everybody loves a cleric, don’t you?

Up next! A Dual Gunner, I just love how these people look like, two guns? Really cool, plus they’re females, really cute and sexy. haha! They’re mid-ranged and they rely on a DPS(Damage per Second) System, they’re aren’t tough as the people who held swords but still they’re cooler. haha!

4th is a girl with a sword and shield is always attracting. A warrior and a healer, ain’t a cool. They can’t be great fighter and a supporter at the same time.

Lastly, is the Rifle Man, a male, Long ranged DPS type.

So? What are you waiting for, every type of job in the game is strong, as long as you stay guided. Good luck.

Travel in Age of Conan is never dull.

Age of Conan’s gameworld is lush and vibrant, owing this to the use of the Cheetah engine, with advanced shadowing and lighting, SpeedTree which provides a rich high quality of foliage rarely seen in MMORPG games, and Umbra which allows the world to be drawn to large distances, which really immerses you in the gameplay. The game contains three main countries namely: Cimmeria, an arctic land filled with mountains, snow and ice, Aquilonia which is comprised of rolling green hills, open plains and temperate forests as well as the large bustling city Tarantia, and Stygia which is for the most part, vast deserts and dunes, and thriving cities. There’s also the island of Tortage which is mainly tropical. The music and voice acting in Age of Conan ispraiseworthy, with more than 40 voice actors contributing to the game, you never feel as if your speaking to the same NPC over and over again (unlike The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion).

Character customization in Age of Conan is incredibly detailed and open to creativity, your able to choose your facial features, tattoos and a plethora of other details. You first pick your homeland, and

after that your able to choose one of 12 classes (which come under the main four: Rouge, Priest, Soldier and Mage) although not every class is available to each race, with only the Khitan able to choose from each main class, however you’ll find a class that suits your playing style regardless of your choice of homeland.

Unlike many of its counterparts, Age of Conan features minimal grind. Age of Conan is centered around combat, and consequently the combat in Age of Conan is the very best that an MMO game has to offer. Combat in Age of Conan (both PvP and PvE) is based on directional attacks, you can attack from the top or bottom diagonally in either direction, or go for an overhead attack to your enemies skull. The combat is also based on combinations of attacks, difficult combinations cause far greater damage at a much faster rate. The

Combat is Age of Conan's strongest feature.

combat is immersive, brutal and mature, and is one of Age of Conan’s highest achievements. The quests are extremely well written and always interesting, despite being based on regular objectives (gather this, kill this, rescue this), and this can be attributed to the well written story, and real effort put into the plot by the writers.

Overall, Age of Conan is a well polished, immersive and one of the most satisfying MMORPG’s to be played, the combat shines as an example to other MMO games, and will keep you coming back for more, a rare trait among games of this genre.

Training in Mabinogi

Mabinogi has undergone a number of updates (called “generations” by the developers), with each new update comes new worlds to explore, as well as extending the plot and giving the player new quests to undertake, currently Mabinogi is up to Generation 12, and further updates will be released in coming years.

One of the many features that sets Mabinogi apart from other MMORPG’s is its class system, that is to say, there isn’t one. In Mabinogi your given a choice of race,  human, elf or giant. You can choose the age of your character (between 10 and 17, but don’t fret your character ages a year every week), and ability points are given with aging, with the amount decreasing with age. You have a huge amount of control of your characters appearance, and if you pay for a premium appearance you can customize your can then customize lips eyes and other features in much more detail, but its not essential to gameplay. You can at any point in the game chose to be reborn, giving your character a new appearance while maintaining all skills that you gained, this is an excellent choice on the part of the developers, and really extends the

life of Mabinogi’s gameplay. What you feed your character also determines what it’s build is like. You can also acquire the ability to transform into a paladin or dark knight.

The graphics in Mabinogi is based on a mixture of medieval Europe and Anime styling’s, which works surprisingly well together. Mabinogi is filled with towns, open countryside, jungles, volcanos, castles, the deserted city of the gods, dungeons and quest areas, and is expanded constantly with major updates.  There are many subtle intricacies within Mabinogi, for example there are two moons in the sky, and one of them were told is the source of all magic energy, mana regenerates at a much faster rate when this moon is in the sky.

Another cool feature is the quest system in Mabinogi. Rather than seek out an NPC or location, quests and items are dropped by owl’s at random intervals, often enough so that you have plenty to do, but not so frequently as to overwhelm you. The PvP combat in Mabinogi is excellent, if you choose manual combat reaction times and predicting your enemy are the order of the day, but if

your not that fast, you can choose the automatic combat mode, however automatic combat against a manual player isn’t recommended, as your characters moves become very predictable. Mabinogi also includes a number of part time jobs to help you gain ability points, but these in all seriousness are a chore to be endured. Another noteworthy feature is the social interaction system, specifically the ability to play your own music on instruments in the game, sit around a campfire, play mini-games and share food.

When it comes down to it, Mabinogi is fun, and more importantly free, making it excellent value for money, although the point and click movement system can get a bit tired, the atmosphere and pacing of the game more than make up for it.
