The game play houses an other unique system called “Pet System”.  After defeating any monster there is a rare chance it will drop a pet card which allows the players to summon it for services whenever required making it a pet for the player, different pets provide different types of advantages.

The Player Versus Player (PvP) in the game has a different look, players can compete with each other by participating in mini games, there is an ‘Item Mall’ system which is present at the site SanrioTown.com allows players to use real money for in game economy and special features.

Over all, This is a great game, For those who don’t like violence and love Hello Kitty would find this game a full 5 star wonder.

City Of Heroes

From the start of any RPG game, players need to create their character for the game. The character creation in this game is as unique as the game itself as there are not many or any game like it. First, players have to choose from five Origins of where or what they were and are. Origins is mostly just story fill-in but they do limit the choices of Enhancements you can use. They also change the Villians you bump into and the types of enemies you face. City of Heroes tries to tie your story line in with your game play.

Then there are five Archetypes to choose from which will be explained further later, Players get to choose a set of primary and secondary powers,they have to make an avatar

and a costume for their Hero or Villain, lastly and uniquely players will create an individual battle cry and can make a background story for their character for the extras.

The gameplay is made of two things Archetypes and Origins, Origins are the type of enhancements that are limited to each origin to advance on and to be able to use them, Origins can be said to be powers that have different effects for different types of Villains and opposite faction. The five origins are Technology, Natural, Magic, Science and Mutation. Archetypes are classes in the game that effect the powers of the character of the players and the players style of gameplay, there are also five archetypes in which there are Controllers, Defenders, Scrappers and Tankers. In addition to archetypes there are also ‘Epic Archetypes’ which are more challenging and are for advanced players, they can be unlocked after reaching the required level.

as ‘Kheldians’ in which the two main types are ‘Peacebringers’ and ‘Warshades’ who don’t get along so much, ‘Peacebringers’ and ‘Warshades’ are basically enemy to each other but both are actively working for the good but there are a certain faction called “Nictus” who are ‘Warshades’ that don’t want to do good but rather evil, For the Villains the Epics archetypes are known as ‘VEATs’ The two main types are “Blood Widow” and “Wolf Spider”.

Now the game world is basically like all the MMORPGs are about, In this game you can play free style and keep the butt’s of evil villains and NPCs (also evil) that you find or you can make your own small team like those from comics “X-men” or “Justice league” and take down big quests and epic Villains and monsters, The main goal is to protect the city or cause havoc in the city (for Villains), Random phenomenons occur in the game randomly, there are moments when a big Villain based organization is attacking the city or the a giant monster is destroying building wrecking havoc its all up to the heroes to save the city.

The game graphics are not so bad nor so good but they present the elements of imagination those of comic books consistence to bring in the environment from the eyes of Super Hero or

Villain, the game has a Badge system that allows players to have badges as a sign of performing actions that are not easy to do, Sort of Achievement system that allows players to have a competition between them. Other then goodies inside the game, there are goodies outside of game as well, Players can buy Boosters packs, powers and special limited costumes for a better experience of their enjoyment, Furthermore unlike other games the player’s Character isn’t deleted even after in activity the game grantees a players character would not be deleted even after 4 years of in activity.

The rest left for the players to explorer them selves, The game is unique to its class, it stands a 4 star out of 5.

The plot is set in the world of fantasy, the world name is Vana’Diel.  Players will have to perform here to  improve and advance in their character’s powers and abilities.  They can complete quests or go free style, but still mainly quests will allow players to advance.  Character Customizations is available like all the other MMORPGs.  There are many and varied types of quests available which even allow players to gain special rewards and the game even has a growing number of Player Versus Player (PvP) competitions.
The story of the game is set on as told before the fantasy world Vana’Diel.  Vana’Diel has two main continent land masses, and there are two smaller islands flanking the main landmasses.  There are four main cities named Bastok, San d’Oria, Windurst, and Jeuno.  The expansion allowed even more cities in the game.  The rest of the world is made up of outdoor environment, dungeons and the whole RPG environment. The events in the game take place after 20 years of crystal war, 20 years after the defeat of the shadow lord and his army.  Now the evil Shadow lord has been resurrected and players must band the nations together against the evil lord.

There are 5 races to choose your character from which are Elvaan, Hume, Galka, Mithra and Tarutaru.  The Elvaan are strong melee fighters and healers. The Hume are a human like race and are a balanced type.  Galka are a male race which are weak in magic. Mithra are a cat like human race in which only female characters can be chosen, they are dexterous but are weak at charisma.  Lastly Tarutaru are small but human like race that are weak in physical abilities but very strong in magic.

The gameplay of the game has missions that allow players to advance in the storyline, while there are quests too but they do not allow the players to advance the game in storyline, which players will find favorable.  Each nation has its own type of expansions and abilities meaning the nation the player choose will have an impact on the style of gameplay as well the storyline itself.  The missions and quests are basically like all the MMORPGs that are about, to get a certain item or to kill some NPC monster etc. Furthermore the game has a job system that allows the player to do jobs which are also a kind of quest system but this job system has a leveling leverage, players can choose six types of careers with 20 different job types at each level, as the players will advance completing jobs they will get new career advancements allowing them to reach and do higher level of jobs.

The PvP is consisted of competing with other players, which does not allow the player to compete with each other in the gameplay but rather in a small mini games.  Which rather ruins the PvP of the game.  Socially the game has a marriage ceremony system which allows extreme users to get married which is touching, but the touching thing would be there are no same sex marriages allowed sorry for the gays and lesbo’s.

Finally in conclusion of the game.  The game can be said to be a 3.5 star attraction, the game has polished RPG elements but it lacks a uniqueness of its own.

There are total four races to choose from, taken directly from the Tolkien books.  As expected, they are Man, Elf, Dwraf and Hobbit. The online game player can choose male and female characters from all of the above races except for Dwarfs. Similar to other MMOs, there are total seven classes to choose from which are Burglar, Captain, Champion, Guardian, Hunter, Lore-master, and Minstrel.

Like most other MMOs the game play has PvP(Player Versus Player) in the form of PvMP – Player Versus Monster Player. Monster Player can be unlocked once the player reaches level 10 and then can level themselves to level 60 as a Monster Player. Monster Players are also know as creeps in the game. The Monster Players have their own style of quests while the opposite to the Monster Players are Heroes which can also be leveled up and also have their own line of quests. Heroes are also known as freeps in the game. Both the freeps and the creeps fight each other for the control of the Ettenmoors, which can be done after taking control of 3 keeps out of 5, then the player goes in the dungeons below the Ettenmoors.

Both the Monster Players and the Heroes gain ranks by defeating members of the opposite side. Monsters gain infamy for defeating a Hero player while Heroes receive renown for defeating a Monster Player. There are 15 ranks in total for each side. Gaining ranks allows you to buy health and power upgrades for Monsters and arsenal for Heroes. Furthermore there are also Destiny Points which you can gain through gaining levels, by completing quests, or through PvPM. Destiny points allow you to have temporary power up to your abilities and skills, they are also used to buy skills and abilities.

Unlike most MMORPGs, players can gain different LOTRO Titles for the deeds they commit in the game, for example you could gain the title “The Wary” which you can gain by attaining level 5 without being defeated. Another LOTRO Title example is “Vanquisher of Thaurlauch” which is a hard title to gain since you have to defeat one of the most feared creature in the game – The Balrog. Moving along there are also Traits which provide extra bonuses to your abilities and skills. There are four types of traits.

Virtue traits are common to gain by completing some goals and quests.

Class traits are the bonuses from complete class dependent quests and goals. These are different on depending on what class you will choose you will have associated bonuses with them.

Racial, are the traits which you get from what race you choose, each race has its own types of traits.

Legendary traits are rare and provide huge bonuses. They are obtained by collecting all the pages of your class book.(dropped from specific enemies).

Finally there are profession traits. There are total ten professions which are Cook, Farmer, Forester, Jeweler, Metalsmith, Prospector, Scholar, Tailor, Weapon smith and Woodworker. Each profession has it’s importance in the game. There is also Musicians type of profession which all the player can acquire from level 5 and gain more advancement in it upon leveling and also teach it to others as well.

Over all Turbine did a great job with the game, the graphics are stunting and the story line is a bit modified but none the less as good as it could get.

 WoW is a game that is bought from a store and players need to pay a monthly subscription to continue playing.  This differs from most other MMORPGs that are often buy once play online for free, or even browser based free forever games.  This model has proven increadibly fruitful for Blizzard as they are taking a monthly subsidy from each and every player that is playing their game.

Players of WoW can walk around the lands of Azeroth with thousands of other MMORPG players.  The lands are divided into two factions, Alliance and Horde.  These two factions have been at war since the dawn of time, and players need to pick a team which their character will play in for the lifetime of the character.

These factions are always at war, and one of the most important choices of a WoW player is if they want to be at war constantly in a Player vs Player (PVP) server or only be at war when in the battlefields in a Player vs Environment (PVE) server.

The next big decision that a World of Warcraft player needs to make is which of the 10 Races they wish their character to be.  Each race have different characteristics and special bonuses.  For instance the Gnomes have an “Expansive Mind” and gain an extra 5% intelligence.  The races are Humans, Trolls, Tauren, Orcs, Dwarves, Blood Elves, Draenei, Undead and Night Elves.

 There are 9 playable classes in World of Warcraft.  A player can chose a class that suits their personality, or role play a class that doesn’t suit their personality at all, to see if they like it.  Classes are up front and personal Warrior, spell and totem wielding Shaman, theif and shadowy Rogue, healer and confidant Priest, holyer than though Paladin, spell casting Mage, friend of the earth Druid, or Lich King breakaway Death Knight. 

Each class has many different abilities and spells and play the game completely different to other classes.  Warriors, Paladins and Death knights are often at the front of battle hacking and slashing away at their enemies and wearing heavy armour.  Mages and Warlocks stand at the back of combat, wearing little or no armour and casting spells or controling pets to do their battling for them.  Priests, druids and shamans are also at the back of the fighting, their roles are to heal the wounded, shield the main tank (usually a Warrior or Paladin) and keep the party alive.  Priests, Shamans and Druids are also classes who can ressurect their team mates if they die, so having one or more in your group is always a bonus.

World of Warcraft has a levelling system.  You start at level 1 and as you do quests and increase your experience you gain levels.  Each new level provides more player stats (like strength, dexterity, stamina, intelligence, spirit), and also unlocks new spells and abilities to be used by the player.

Travelling around Azeroth you can play by yourself, do quests given to you by nearby NPCs (Non Playing Characters) or group with up to 5 people to do quests together.  Quests might include killing a number of nearby beats, or delivering information or an item to another NPC player.  Quests are varied and sometimes complicated and are the best way to understand your characters abilities and faults.

At the higher end of the game, you can join a guild and go and attack dugeons with up to 40 players in a group.
